Shandur Polo Festival 2025 Scheduled for June 20-22 at world's Highest Polo Ground

Gilgit-Baltistan , Pakistan – June 2, 2025: The iconic Shandur Polo Festival is set to take place from June 20 to 22, 2025, at the world’s highest polo ground located at Shandur Pass, 12,500 feet above sea level. Nestled between Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, this unique venue offers a breathtaking backdrop for the thrilling three-day event, which has gained both national and international recognition over the years. Celebrated for its traditional freestyle polo matches, the festival also showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region through vibrant cultural performances, music shows, paragliding displays, and angling competitions. The highlight of the festival remains the fiercely contested final match between the arch-rival teams of Gilgit-Baltistan “A” and Chitral “A”, a spectacle that draws large crowds and extensive media coverage. This year, four teams from Gilgit-Baltistan — Teams A, B, C, and D — will participate in the tournament, bringing together top polo players from the region. The matches will continue over the course of three days, culminating in the much-anticipated final showdown. The Sports Department of the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has already initiated comprehensive preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
