Our History
The Directorate of Tourist Services was established in 1976 with the aim of regulating and promoting tourism in the northern areas of Pakistan. Over the decades, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of the tourism industry while preserving the unique cultural and natural heritage of Gilgit Baltistan.
In 2010, following the Gilgit Baltistan Empowerment and Self-Governance Order, the department was restructured to better serve the region's growing tourism sector. Today, we continue to work towards making Gilgit Baltistan a world-class tourist destination while ensuring sustainable tourism practices.
