The Directorate of Tourist Services (DTS) Gilgit-Baltistan proudly launched its cutting-edge Digital Tourism Portal today at a grand ceremony held at Green Pak Hotel, Skardu. This milestone marks a significant step towards the digital transformation of the region's tourism and hospitality sector. 🏔📲 The event opened with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by insightful remarks from the Secretary Tourism, who highlighted how digitization will enhance transparency, regulation, and accessibility, crucial for the sustainable growth of Gilgit-Baltistan's tourism industry. The portal was virtually inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Minister for Planning & Development Gilgit-Baltistan, who described it as a breakthrough towards efficient governance and a more supportive environment for both tourists and service providers. The President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan emphasized the importance of digital platforms in modern tourism management and advocated for increased training and capacity-building programs, especially for tour guides. A live demonstration of the portal showcased its innovative features and benefits, followed by an engaging Q&A session led by the Controller DTSGB, where stakeholders learned how this digital system will streamline operations and improve regulatory oversight.
